We are so excited to kick off this week with a hands-on experience!!!

The field trip will be class for the day, meaning no regular class. 

***IMPORTANT CHANGE*** We have modified the field trip, so parents DO NOT need to stay.  Please arrive at the school no later than your designated time to drop off your child.  The Fire Safety Event will last approximately 1 hour and will include a safety presentation in the classroom, followed by fire safety stations in the Work Room and Discovery Room. DROP OFF FOR ALL CLASSES WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE. PICK UP FOR ALL CLASSES WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE WORK ROOM ENTRANCE. WHEN PICKING UP YOUR CHILD, PLEASE PARK IN THE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE SCHOOL AND WALK THROUGH THE ALLEY TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD. This will help with efficiency.  There will be no sign-in/sign-out for this event. It is extremely important to arrive on time to pick up your child as the rooms will need to be ready for the next group.

Join us for this fun and exciting kindergarten prep camp as we play, read, and review our kindergarten readiness skills. We will polish up our letter formation, letter sounds, early math, proper name-writing skills, and number recognition and formation. Each day features a different fun summer theme!

Polite As A Princess:

Get ready to shine!  In this fun class, girls will learn what it takes to be a real princess.  Each class features a new manner as well as story and project, all with a princess theme.  At the end of the class, girls will get to practice what they have learned at our dress-up tea party event!

Real Superheroes:

Get ready to be Super!  In this fun class, boys and girls will learn what it takes to be a real superhero.  Each class features a new manner as well as story and project with a superhero theme.  At the end of the class children will get to practice what they have learned at our dress-up super-hero event!

With Governor Herbert's announcement to move to the Yellow Phase, I am so excited to have students back in the classroom! 

 

Please take note of the following:

School will be in session (regular class time) between now and May 29/June 17 depending on your response to the COVID-19 School Year Completion Survey.  You should have received an email with detailed instructions. 

Please remember that when signing in each day, you will need to fill out a waiver stating that:

your child has not had *exposure to COVID-19 (defined as the following):

a. been to another country or high risk (hot spot) area where there is community spread of COVID-19

b. been in contact with anyone who has been to another country or high risk (hot spot) area where there is community spread of COVID-19

OR

*had a fever or cough in the past 14 days

 

The following additional precautions will be in place:

1. Paper towels will be used for hand-drying after snack time

2. Children's hands will be sanitized prior to and upon completion of playtime, entering and exiting each room, exiting the school, and snack time

3. If any student displays any signs of COVID-19, they will not be allowed to enter the school, or will be sent home immediately.

4. If your child frequently picks their nose, band-aids will be put on fingers to discourage nose-picking and to decrease the spread of germs.

Graduation Dress Rehearsal

Dress Rehearsal: The dress rehearsal for our program will be on Monday, 29 June 2020 at the Friendship Park Pavilion in Murray.  It will take place at the above time. Please have your child wear blue denim jeans/shorts or skirts and their BLUE SCHOOL SHIRT FROM THIS YEAR* (NO OVERALLS and NO FLIP-FLOPS).  Please leave girl’s hair down that day so that our Dress Rehearsal will run smoothly.  Please take your child to the restroom prior to dropping them off at 9:00am.  I do not know if we will have restroom access at the park.  Please be prompt in dropping off and picking up your child.  Please remain outside of the gate until a staff member signals that I am ready for kids to come in and be picked up.  Please note that parents are not permitted to stay for this event.  Please do not watch from the gate-area, as it will distract the children.  I have been doing the Graduation Program for over 13 years now and I promise it will be 100% more productive to have just me and my assistants with the class for this rehearsal.

Inclement Weather: If there is inclement weather on the day of the Dress Rehearsal, please WATCH YOUR EMAIL and the website for further instructions.

Dress:  Your child will need to be dressed in blue denim jeans/shorts or skirts, and their BLUE SCHOOL SHIRT FROM THIS YEAR* (NO OVERALLS).  Please make every effort to keep the shirt clean and nice for their special day.

*Please see the picture at the end of this letter for a reminder of what this year’s shirt looks like.    

Girls:  Please do not wear hair up (in a “pony-tail”, bun/s, etc).  Graduation hats do not stay on with these super cute hair-styles.  If your child wears a skirt, they will be required to wear some type of shorts under their skirt

All kids:  NO FLIP FLOPS.  We would appreciate your support.  Every year I have at least one parent send their child in flip flops, and they inevitably fall off or trip at some point in the program.   Thanks for helping our program run smoothly in this way!

Time:  Please bring your child to the gate 10 minutes prior to Start Time Above.  The gate will open 15 minutes before Start Time Above. There will be a teacher at the gate to greet and receive your child.  Please do not arrive late, as it will make things more difficult for all involved, and is inconsiderate to those who plan ahead and are on time.  Please prepare your child ahead of time so they will know that you will be dropping them off at the gate and then going to the pavilion to sit down.  The program will last about 30 minutes.  *Please see the note below and the attached note about COVID-19 seating arrangements.

Location:  Friendship Park is located at 5701 S. Fashion Boulevard in Murray.

Video/Photography:  Video recording of the program is permitted. 

Admission:  There is no cost for admission to the program. Due to COVID-19 and Social distancing, please be considerate and limit the amount of family you invite. There will be chairs set up under the pavilion for direct family members.  Additional guests may attend as long as they understand the need to stay six feet away from other family groups and as long as they bring their own chairs to sit on. In order to maintain social distancing and to keep everyone safe, no additional chairs may be set up under the pavilion.  At my direction, Staff members will be monitoring and gently reminding attendees to maintain Social Distancing.

Inclement Weather: If there is inclement weather on the day of Graduation, please WATCH YOUR EMAIL and the website for further instructions.

Additional Information:

*Please make sure your child has a healthy breakfast and good night’s sleep prior to coming to the program.  I want them to have all of the energy possible to help them participate. 

*Please take your child to the restroom just before you drop them off at 8:50am.  I do not know if we will have restroom access at the park, and there will be no bathroom breaks once the program has started. 

*Please encourage your child to smile during the program and participate as it will give your child a sense of accomplishment.

Your Child will receive an invitation WITH HIS/HER SPECIFIC DESIGNATED TIME in the mail and via email. 
 
Come to the school for a fun Preschool Scavenger Hunt.  Once completed, each child will get a special treat from Miss Sam!
